Man Arrested for Stealing Fishing Lures; Woman Fleeing Police Gets Stuck in Snowbank

Crystal Lake Police release arrest reports through March 18, 2013.

Retail Theft

Mark F. Henshall, 54, 4902 Drive-in Lane, Crystal Lake, was arrested March 3, and charged with retail theft valued at under $300. Police said Henshall stole plant seeds and batteries from Menards, 4850 Route 14. Bail was set at $1,500. Henshall posted bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court April 9.

Jennifer A. Ocasio, 29, 7920 Ridgefield Rd., Crystal Lake, was arrested March 5, and charged with two counts of retail theft and one count of endangering the life/ health of a child.

Police said Ocasio stole baby formula from 5340 Route 14. While fleeing from the store's loss prevention personnel, Ocasio drove recklessly through the snow-covered parking lot with a child occupant who was not restrained in a child safety seat. Ocasio ended up stuck in a snowbank near Target.   

Jason R. Hornung, 23, 28768 W. Old Rand R., Wauconda, was arrested Feb. 12, and charged with retail theft. Police said Hornung stole a couple of DVDs and a magazine from Dominick's Finer Foods, 5340 Route 14.

Phillip J. Ignoffo, 59, 8307 Nolan St., Harvard, was arrested March 12, and charged with retail theft valued under $300. Police said Ignoffo stole fishing lures from Walmart, 1205 S. Route 31. Bond was set at $1,500, 10 percent applies. Ignoffo posted bond and was released. He was scheduled to appear in court April 2.


Theft

Brandon W. Burnett, 14411 Kishwaukee Valley Rd., Woodstock, was arrested Feb. 26, and charged with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.

Police said Burnett stole some property from an unconscious person at the Downtown Train Depot, 70 W. Woodstock St. The unconscious person appeared to have fallen and hit his/ her head on the pavement after having a little bit too much to drink. Burnett allegedly took items from the fallen victim, police said. Burnett was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock, where he was awaiting bond and a court date.
