LITH Man in Critical Condition after Car Crash in South Barrington

Jeff Rubio, 42, of Lake in the Hills, was severely injured in the car accident Saturday afternoon in South Barrington.

Lake in the Hills resident Jeff Rubio, 42, is listed in critical condition at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge following a Saturday afternoon car accident in South Barrington, the Northwest Herald reports. 

The story states Rubio was driving a 2010 Mazda westward on Algonquin Road near the intersection of Palatine Road at about 1:50 p.m. Oct. 5. Brianna Graffia, 16, of Inverness, was driving a 2012 Jeep, traveling east on Algonquin, and attempted to turn east onto Palatine Road when the two cars collided. 

It took emergency responders about 30 minutes to extricate Rubio from his car, the Herald reports.

Rubio is the facilities manager for Forest View Education Center for Township High School District 214 based in Arlington Heights. Venetia Miles, communications director and spokeswoman for District 214, provided the following statement:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeff and his family right now," Miles said.
