Carlson also was able to obtain explicit photographs from the juvenile.

According to sheriff police, Carlson used the explicit photos to threaten the juvenile.  Carlson said he would show the photographs to the juvenile’s friends if the juvenile didn’t continue to send him photographs, Nygren said.

Sheriff’s detectives on Nov. 14 obtained a warrant to arrest Carlson. The Island Lake resident was then taken into custody without incident. Bond was set at $30,000. Carlson is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 28.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending, Nygren said.

To report illegal internet activity, residents should call their local police department, or the Sheriff’s Office at 815-338-2144.
