Huntley Teen Arrested for Driving 100 MPH
A 16-year-old Huntley boy was clocked driving 100 mph on Coyne Station Road near Ernesti Road in unincorporated Huntley on Tuesday.
The McHenry County Sheriff's Office arrested a 16-year-old Huntley boy in unincorporated Huntley for speeding 40 mph over the speed limit and reckless driving, according to a sheriff's office press release.
The boy was pulled over at 2:37 p.m. on Sept. 10, after a deputy clocked his 2001 Jeep Cherokee traveling at 100 mph in a 55 mph zone while northbound on Coyne Station Road near Ernesti Road in unincorporated Huntley, according to the sheriff's office news release.
The driver’s parents were notified, responded to the scene, and took custody of the teen, according to the news release.
Sheriff’s deputies have been asked to conduct patrols in the area of the traffic stop. This is one of many directed patrols that occur in the area of high schools now that school is back in session.

“The Sheriff’s Office takes traffic safety concerns seriously and dedicates resources to address areas of concern,” said Undersheriff Andrew Zinke in a news release.
“Education and enforcement together are important in keeping our roads safe.”
