Four Crystal Lake Businesses Cited for Liquor Violations

Crystal Lake Police conducted an undercover alcohol compliance enforcement check, and four local businesses sold alcoholic beverages to minors during the operation.

Four area businesses were cited for selling alcoholic beverages to minors during an undercover compliance enforcement conducted Thursday by the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Crystal Lake Police and Illinois State Police carried out Alcohol Compliance Enforcement (ACE) checks on local businesses licensed to sell alcoholic beverages within the city limits, Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior stated in a press release.

During this A.C.E. detail, eight undercover officers and four underage minors visited 24 various liquor establishments, packaged sales stores, restaurants and bars throughout Crystal Lake with the goal of finding them to be in compliance, Dziewior said.

Four businesses conducted unlawful sales of alcoholic beverages to the minors during the operation, Dziewior said.
