The sheriff's office recently was notified that the victim, now 14 years old, came forward with information about Hoerauf. The victim claims to have been sexually assaulted by Hoerauf in Wonder Lake in 2004, Nygren stated in the release.

The assaults occurred when the victim was six or seven years old and Hoerauf was in his mid-twenties, the victim told sheriff's police.

During the investigation, sheriff's investigators discovered there was a second victim, Nygren said. That victim, now 18, was interviewed and disclosed being sexually assaulted by Hoerauf in the same manner at age six, Nygen said.  The assaults occurred over a period of two years while the victim was living with Hoerauf in Wonder Lake, Nygren said.

Hoerauf was interviewed and admitted to assaulting both children, who lived in the same home in Wonder Lake, according to the release.

Upon his arrest, Hoerauf was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock, where he is currently being held on a $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 24, 2013, Nygren said.
