Fire crews are battling a blaze in a Barrington Hills barn this morning.

A box alarm was pulled around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 10 for the incident in the 0-100 block of Ridge Road. The road is currently closed in both directions between Merri Oaks and Spring Creek roads.

A firefighter was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital around 10 a.m. for injuries sustained in the blaze, according to a Barrington Hills police officer. It's unclear how serious those injuries are at this time. As of 10:15 a.m., there have been no other reported injuries.

The fire is located in a rural area with limited fire hydrants. Several tankers from different fire departments were seen driving to and from the fire this morning to help battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Barrington Patch will have updates as they become available.
