Fire at TC Industries in Crystal Lake Causes $500,000 Damage

The fire started at about 8 p.m. Sunday night and was struck by 9 p.m., according to authorities.

 

The longstanding TC Industries in Crystal Lake suffered about $500,000 in damage when a fire broke out Sunday night, the Northwest Herald is reporting.

The fire started at about 8:05 p.m. on Nov. 11, at the TC Industries plant located at 3703 S. Route 31, when a couple of machines and an oil tank caught fire, the Herald story stated.

The plant's fire suppression system activated and extinguished the main part of the fire, which was under control within about 25 minutes and struck completely within 45 minutes. No more than 20 people were working at the time, and all workers were evacuated safely, the Herald stated.
