UPDATE: Elderly Woman Killed in Woodstock Fire Identified

An elderly woman killed Thursday in a house fire in Woodstock has been identified as Anita Kohl, 73, according to the McHenry County Coroner's Office press release. 

The woman’s body was found in a home on the 500 block of East Kimball Street in Woodstock after firefighters were called to the home Thursday evening, according to a McHenry County Coroners press release. 

An autopsy performed Friday revealed that there was no foul play suspected in the death. The cause of death is still pending further laboratory and toxicology reports.

The Woodstock Police Department and State Fire Marshal are also investigating the fire.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: An elderly woman is dead following a fire Thursday night in a Woodstock home, according to CBS 2 Chicago. 

Firefighters responded to the blaze at 7:30 p.m. and had the fire under control  within 20 minutes, according to the Daily Herald. The elderly woman was the only one inside the home and no one else was injured in the blaze, according to the article.  

CBS reports the blaze destroyed the one-and-a-half-story home at 509 E. Kimball Ave. in Woodstock and the fire remains under investigation by Woodstock Fire and Rescue.
