Crystal Lake Woman Injured in LITH Crash

Citations given out in Monday night accident.

A 15-year-old Cary girl and 39-year-old Crystal Lake woman were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Pyott Road and East Oak Street around 8:10 p.m. when a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier rear-ended a 2003 Ford Focus that was stopped at the intersection and waiting to turn left onto Oak Street, said Sgt. Eric Decker of the .

The driver of the Cavelier, Elisa Dominguez, 18, of Palatine, received citations for failure to yield at an intersection and for driving without insurance, Decker said.

A passenger in her car, a 15-year-old Cary girl, was taken to Sherman Hospital for minor injuries, said Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski of the LITH Police Department.

The driver of the Escort, Kathleen Boyd, 39, of Crystal Lake, was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock also for minor injuries.

Two other teens in the Cavelier at the time of the crash were not injured, Decker said.
