Crystal Lake Police News: Fight at Finn McCool's, Car Hits Building, Man Points Handgun at Roommate

Fight at Finn McCools

Two McHenry men and a Wonder Lake man were arrested Sept. 30, after getting into a fight at Finn McCools, 72 N. Williams St., according to Crystal Lake Police.

The three men got into an agrument, police said. Two bouncers from Finn McCool's tried to break up the dispute, but found themselves on the receiving end of the fight.

George T. Gaudio, 27, 8109 E. Meadow Ln., Wonder Lake, allegedly struck two bouncers who were trying to intervene, police said. Gaudio was arrested and charged with two counts of battery/ causing bodily harm for striking the bouncers, police said.

James P. Horan, 23, 5844 Fieldstone Trail, McHenry, also allegedly hit one of the bouncers, police said. James P. Horan was charged with one count of battery/ causing bodily harm. 

Timothy P. Horan, 31, also of 5844 Fieldstone Trail, was yelling, screaming and acting aggressively "as to provoke a breach of peace," police said. Timothy P. Horan was charged with one count of disorderly conduct.  

 

Car Hits Building on Route 14

A Fox River Grove man driving a 2007 Honda Civic veered off Route 14 on Monay, Oct. 15, and crashed into the building shared by Julie Ann's Custard in the Crystal Lake Plaza, police said.

Eric Kottman, 25, was traveling westbound on Route 14 when, at about 12:45 p.m., his car left the road, crossed the parkway and a section of parking lot and eventually struck the southeast corner of the building at 6500 Route 14. The section of the building that was hit is unoccupied.

No other cars were involved, and no serious injuries occured, according to a press release issued by Police Commander Dan Dziewior. Kottman was transported to Centegra Memorial Hospital in Woodstock for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening. 

The Crystal Lake Building Department inspected the structure, and deemed it safe to occupy, Dziewior said. 

Police said there was no apparent indication of driver impairment due to alcohol or drugs. No charges have been filed to date. Crystal Lake Police continue to investigate the incident.

 

Man Points Gun at Roommate During Argument

A Crystal Lake man was arrested Sept. 27, after he reportedly pointed a handgun at his roommate during an argument at their home at 1252 Walnut Glen Drive. The handgun was equipped with a laser sight that activated. No shots were fired, and no one was injured, police said.

Derek S. Radesky, 22, was charged with one count of aggravated assault with use of a deadly weapon, one count of aggravated assault with use of a laser, and one count of carrying/ possessing a concealed weapon, police said.
