Crystal Lake Police Hosting 2013 National Night Out

National Night Out is a nationwide event providing an opportunity for the community and local police officers to come together.

       

The Crystal Lake Police Department will be hosting its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Three Oaks Recreational Area.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that provides an opportunity for the community and local law enforcement officials to join together to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in the "fight for a safer nation," according to a release issued by Kimberly Shipbaugh, community relations officer.

This year's event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at Three Oaks, located at 5517 Route 14, in Crystal Lake. Admission is free to Crystal Lake residents, Shipbaugh stated in the release.  

Planned activities include: free face painting, police and fire/ rescue vehicles on display, a police K-9 demonstration, Crystal Lake Police Department’s Emergency Services Team display, IL/ WI Search and Rescue K-9 demonstration, "Glowby" the Bubbler and kids games.

Onsite food vendor Culver’s will offer a special meal deal: hamburger or cheeseburger with fries, drink and a cup of custard for only $2.50.
