Crystal Lake Police Blotter: Theft of Roofing Materials, Retail Theft

Theft

Sunilkumar R. Brahmbhatt, 43, 1229 Fernleaf Dr., Crystal Lake, was arrested July 17, and charged with “theft stolen intent.” Brahmbhatt was charged with theft (possession) of a stolen laptop valued at approximately $2,000.

Glen R. Decker, 39, 1234 N. Peach St., Pell Lake, Wis., was arrested July 18, and was charged with one count of “theft over” and one count of “theft over” (attempt). Decker allegedly stole copper roofing materials from ABC Roofing Supply, 171 Erick St., Crystal Lake. The materials are valued at $1,900. Decker was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. He was awaiting bond and court date.

Retail Theft

David W. Gilby, 45, 262 Cascade Ln., Crystal Lake, was arrested July 17, and charged with one count of retail theft. Police said Gilby stole a pocket knife valued at about $20 from Menard’s, 4850 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Gilby was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Bond was set at $1,500. He was awaiting a court date.

Jessica M. Hayes, 39, 4603 Wild Cherry Rd., Crystal Lake, was arrested July 20, and charged with one count of retail theft. Hayes allegedly stole clothing and jewelry valued at approximately $680 from Kohl’s, 5420 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Bond was set $1,500 with a 10 percent payment to be released from jail. Hayes was released and is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21.

Maria Perez, 39, 368 Ridge Ave., Crystal Lake, was arrested July 22, and charged with one count of retail theft. Perez allegedly stole jewelry valued at about $28 from Kohl’s, 5420 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Bond was set at $150. Perez posted bond and was released. She is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 14.
