Crystal Lake Police: Retail Theft, Trespassing, Leaving Scene of Accident

Crystal Lake Police release reports for Nov. 7 to 18, 2012.

 

Note: The following information was obtained from the Crystal Lake Police arrest reports. An arrest does not constitute a conviction. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Retail Theft/ Theft

John A. Rudd, 21, 1386 Bridgedale Rd., Crystal Lake, was arrested Nov. 7, and charged with one count of retail theft under $300. Rudd stole a set of headphones valued at $150 from 5580 Route 14, Crystal Lake, police said. Rudd posted 10 percent of a $1,500 and was released. He was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 4.

John T. Gorham, 18, 356 First Ct., Crystal Lake, was arrested Nov. 15, and charged with two counts of retail theft valued under $300. Police said Gorham stole jewelry valued at $300 from Kohls, 5420 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Gorham posted 10 percent of $1,500 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 20.

Bobbi M. Chapman, 30, 296 Charlotte Ave., Crystal Lake, was arrested Nov. 18, and charged with one count of retail theft under $300. Police said Chapman stole clothing valued under $100 from Kohls, 5420 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Chapman posted 10 pecent of a $1,500 bond and was released. She is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.

Danielle N. Barzyk, 19, 8405 Hickory Nut Grove, Cary, was arrested Nov. 18, and charged with one count of theft by deception. Police said Barzyk stole property such as cash and gift cards from while she was an employee of the store. Barzyk posted 10 percent of $1,500 bond and was released. She was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 11.

Leaving Scene of Accident

Fernando Ruiz-Perez, 27, 148 Berkshire Dr., Crystal Lake, was arrested Nov. 12, and charged with one count leaving the scene of an accident, one count failure to reduce speed, one count failure to give information/ render aid, one count failure to report a vehicle accident, one count driver failing to notify police of an accident, one count failure to yield, and one count unlicensed.

Police said Perez was involved in an vehicle accident near Route 14 and Dole Avenue. No injuries were involved. One of Perez's registration plates was left behind due to the collision, and police traced the plate to the registered owner, who admitted to leaving the scene of the crash. Perez posted 10 percent of $1,500 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.

George Magana, 25, 99 S. Wulff St., Cary, was arrested Nov. 13, and charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage, one count of the driver failing to notify police of an accident, one count failure to report a vehicle accident, one count failure to reduce speed, one count improper lane use, one count of disregarding a stop sign and one count operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Police said Magana was involved in a single car-versus-tree accident near Eastgate and Factory roads. No injuries were involved. Police said Magana's vehicle was left behind and traced to registered owner. Magana posted $150 and was released. He was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 11.

Criminal Damage to Property

Trevor L. Gilmore, 21, 14411 Kishwaukee Valley Rd., Woodstock, was arrested Nov. 13, and charged with one count of criminal damage to property. Police said Gilmore damaged some of the windows on the warming shelters located in the Downtown Crystal Lake train depot. Gilmore was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Jail in Woodstock. Bond was set at $1,500. Gilmore was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 4.

Burglary/ Underage Drinking

Andy E. Dorantes, 19, 430 Westwood Ct., Crystal Lake, was arrested Nov. 16, and charged with burglary and one count illegal possession/ consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said Dorantes stole a GPS unit from a car parked in the 300 block of Nash Road. Dorantes was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Jail in Woodstock, where he was awaiting bond and a court date.

Criminal Trespass to Land

Armando Gonzales, 31, address unknown, Crystal Lake, was arrested Nov. 17, and charged with one count of criminal trespass to land and one count disorderly conduct.

Police said Gonzales, while reportedly intoxicated, knocked on the door of a home in the 700 block of Elsinoor Lane. When the homeowner opened the door, Gonzales entered the house. The homeowner did not know Gonzales and asked him to leave, but Gonzales refused, police said. The homeowner managed to pull Gonzales outside, closed and locked the door and called police. When police arrived, they found Gonzales in a nearby bush, reports stated.

Gonzales posted 10 percent of a $1,500 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
