Crystal Lake Police Blotter: Couple Charged with Retail Theft, Domestic Battery, Electronic Harassment

Retail Theft from Walmart

A Marengo man and woman were arrested and charged with retail theft after they stole merchandise from Walmart, and the man hurt a Walmart employee during their getaway, according to Crystal Lake Police.

Sarah J. Stoiber, 18, 6714 Paulson Dr., Marengo, was arrested Oct. 16, and charged with one count of retail theft under $300. Police said Stoiber stole cosmetics and food valued at less than $100 from the Walmart, 1205 S. Route 31, Crystal Lake. Stoiber posted 10 percent of a $1,500 bond and was released. She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.

Michael J. Pratt, 19, 6404 Dunham Rd., Marengo, also was arrested Oct. 16 during the same incident and charged with one count of aggravated battery in a public place, one count retail theft under $300, one count possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count possession of less than 2.5 grams marijuana.

Police said Pratt was involved with the theft of comestics and food valued at less than $100 from Walmart (along with Stoiber). Pratt also was charged with battery after he struck a Walmart employee with the car he was driving during his and Stoiber's get-away, police said.

The couple was later intercepted by the Crystal Lake Police Department and taken into custody. The Walmart employee sustained a very minor injury to one of his hands, police said.

Pratt posted 10 percent of a $1,500 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.

 

Domestic Battery

Angie B. Forgione, 33, 40 Green Oaks Dr. Apt. 3E, Crystal Lake, was arrested Oct. 16, and charged with one count domestic battery/ causing bodily harm. Forgione was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.

In the same event, Khali Ibn Forrest, 36, of the same address, was arrested and also charged with domestic battery/ bodily harm. He also was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 20.

Police said Forgione and Forrest - boyfriend and girlfriend - accused each other of intiating a physical confrontation.

 

Assault while Driving

Stefan B. Fraser, 25, 1622 Stockton Ln., Crystal Lake, was arrested Oct. 17, and charged with one count of assault. Police said Fraser allegedly threatened to punch his girlfriend during a verbal argument that occured while the victim was driving near Route 31 and Three Oaks Road. Fraser was a passenger in the car. Fraser posted $120 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 13.

 

Harassment Through Electronic Communication

Karyn N. Bonti, 32, 1056 Abbey Dr., Crystal Lake, was arrested Oct. 9, and charged with harassment/ electronic communication. Police said Bonti sent harassing and unsolicited electronic messages to a man even after receiving prior warning from police to cease all contact with the man.

Bonti posted $150 bond and was released. She is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 15.
