Crystal Lake Police Blotter: Child Endangerment, Theft, Juvenile Arrests

Crystal Lake Police release reports for Nov. 7 to Dec. 18, 2012.

 

Note: The following information was obtained from Crystal Lake Police arrest reports. An arrest is an accusation and does not constitute a conviction. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Child Endangerment

Katharine M. Mascheri, 26, 6714 Hunters Path, Cary, was arrested Dec. 17, and charged with one count endangering the life/ health of a child.

Police said Mascheri left her infant child alone and unattended in her vehicle for approximately 45 minutes while she went shopping at a business located in the 6100 block of Route 14. Mascheri posted 10 percent of a $1,500 bond, and was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 8.

Theft/ Child Endangerment

Shara C. Allen, 33, 17 Oxford Dr. 14, Carpentersville, was arrested Dec. 18, and charged with one count of retail theft, and one count contributing to the dependency and neglect of children.

Police said Allen stole a computer from Walmart, 1205 S. Route 31 and left her juvenile child behind when she fled from loss prevention officials when confronted about the theft. The child was fine. Allen was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office jail in Woodstock, where she was awaiting bond and a court date.

Theft

Gayle M. Joyner, 30, 443 W. Jackson St., Woodstock, was arrested Dec. 15, and charged with one count of retail theft valued at under $300. Police said Joyner is accused of stealing a Jay Cutler Chicago Bears Jersey valued at $100 from 5420 Route 14. Bond was set at $1,500, 10 percent applies. Joyner is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 15. 

Domestic Battery

Steven S. Seibert, 26, 186 First St., Crystal Lake, was arrested Dec. 9, and charged with one count of domestic battery/ physical contact and one count domestic battery/ bodily harm. Police said Seibert was involved in a domestic dispute with an adult male family member who suffered minor injuries. Seibert was transported to McHenry County Sheriff's Office, where he was awaiting bond and a court date.

Teen: Delivery, Possession of Cannabis

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Nov. 30, and charged with one count of manufacturing/ delivery of between 30 to 500 grams marijuana near school grounds, one count causual delivery of between 30 to 500 grams of marijuana, and one count possession of between 30 to 500 grams marijuana. Police said the juvenile was stopped within 1,000 feet of Crystal Lake South High School. The juvenile was transported to the Kane County Juvenile Correctional Cener.

Juvenile Arrests

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested Nov. 7, and charged with one count disorderly conduct and one count resisting/ obstructing a peace officer.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Nov. 7, and charged with one count possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested Nov. 27, and charged with theft under $500. The juvenile stole a wallet from another student at 1200 S. McHenry Ave.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested Dec. 2, and charged with retail theft. Police said the juvenile stole three shirts valued at $72 from Kohl's, 5420 Route 14.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Dec. 11, and charged with two counts of domestic battery/ bodily harm, two counts domestic battery/ physical contact, one count possession of less than 2.5 grams marijuana, one count possession drug paraphernalia, and one count criminal damage to property valued at less than $300. The juvenile hit some family members. No serious injuries were reported. The teen was petitioned into juvenile court.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Dec. 14, and charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage.

Leaving an Accident Involving Injuries

Daniel J. Melle, 21, 1121 Boxwood Ct., was arrested Dec. 10, on an outstanding McHenry County Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to stop after being involved in a vehicle accident involving an injury. Police said Melle, driving an SUV, was involved in a collision with a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Melle posted 10 percent of $10,000 bond and was released. He was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 3.
