Crystal Lake Police Blotter: DUI, Domestic Battery, Possession of Marijuana

Note: An arrest does not constitute a conviction. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Juvenile Arrests A 16-year-old was arrested and charged July 22 with one count of leaving the scene of a car accident involving vehicle damage. The teen was released to a parent and is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 14.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested July 16 and charged with one count of driving on a suspended drivers license. The teen paid $150 bond and was released to a parent. The juvenile is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m.
Aug. 14.

A 17-year-old was arrested Aug. 9 and charged with one count of disorderly conduct. The teen was released to the mother and is awaiting a court date.

Possession of Marijuana

Mahumet Spahiu, 28, 30 S. Oriole Trail, Crystal Lake, was arrested July 31 and charged with one count possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of marijuana between 30 to 500 grams, one count manufacturing/ delivering between 30 to 500 grams marijuana, and possession of any substance with intent to deliver. Spahiu was sent to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Jail. A court date will be set by judge. No bond was set because of the felony charges.

Michael K. Roof, 39, 370 Richmond Ln., Crystal Lake, was arrested Aug. 3, and charged with criminal damage to property, causing damage estimated under $300. Roof is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 18.

DUI

Fitzgerald S. Gordillo, 32, 342 Everett Ave., Crystal Lake, was arrested Aug. 4 and charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol, one count of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol of more than .08, one count of failure to reduce speed, and one count of improper lane use. Gordillo posted 10 percent of $300. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 25.

Domestic Battery

Brian R. Van Scoy, 24, 1393 Parkridge Ct., Crystal Lake, was arrested Aug.  7 and charged with one count of domestic battery/ physical contact, one count criminal damage to property involving damage of less than $300, and one count of aggravated assault against a victim 60-plus years old. Van Scoy was transported to the McHenry County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 4.

Andrew S. Popp, 21, 5807 Ethel Ave., Crystal Lake, was arrested and charged with one count of domestic battery/ bodily harm. Popp was transported to McHenry County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 18.
