Crystal Lake Police Arrest Several People for DUI, Domestic Battery

Note: The following information was obtained from Crystal Lake Police arrest reports. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law. 

DUI

Sara A. Buckley, 46, of the 1100 block of Woodstock St., Huntley, was arrested Aug. 30, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent applies. She is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 1. 


Joseph R. Deneve, 23, of the 4400 block of Barreville Rd., Prairie Grove, was arrested on Aug. 31, and charged with driving under the influence - 4th passenger. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent applies. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 15. 

Martin Gonzalez, of the 1400 block of Adams St., Lake in the Hills, was arrested Sept. 2, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content over .08, improper use/ designated lane, failure to reduce speed and squealing/ screeching tires. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 10. 

Ronald J. Bender, 47, of the 4400 block of Scott Ct., Crystal Lake, was arrested Sept. 8, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol- intoxicating compounds. He was transported to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. Bond was set at $4,500, 10 percent applies. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 15. 

Carlos Velez, 39, of the 100 block of Hamilton, Elgin, was arrested Sept. 8, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood-alcohol content over .08. Bond was set at $3,000, 10 percent applies. He posted his drivers license and $150 for bond , and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 17. 

Domestic Battery

Edward R. Bernau, 72, of the 80 block of Clover Dr., Crystal Lake, was arrested Aug. 31, and charged with domestic battery/ bodily harm. He was transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility. He was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 17. 

Salvatore A. Laudicina, 31, of the 800 block of Boxwood Dr., Crystal Lake, was arrested Sept. 3, and charged with domestic battery/ bodily harm and interfering with a report of domestic violence. He was transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail pending a bond hearing. 

Wanted on Warrant

Seth A. Schussler, 30, of the 5800 block of Terra Cotta Rd., Crystal Lake, was arrested Sept. 4, on an outstanding warrant from Kane County for resisting arrest and suspended drivers license. Bond was set at $1,075. He was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 24.
