CL Man Arrested for Stealing Golf Clubs, Others Charged with Battery, Retail Theft
Crystal Lake Police release reports through Nov. 1, 2013.
Theft
Sylvia E. Czachor, 24, of the 1900 block of Orleans St., McHenry, was arrested Oct. 4, on a warrant from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office for theft. Police said Czachor stole cash over seven-month period from her place of employment, Monkey Joe's.
Battery Against Police Officer
Sean D. Widdowson, 18, of the 500 block of Darlington Ln., Crystal Lake, was arrested Oct. 17, and charged with battery/ making physical contact, resisting a peace officer and aggravated battery against a peace officer.
Police said Widdowson poked a police officer in the chest. The officer was on the scene for a noise complaint. Widdowson also shouldered an officer while in booking and then kicked an officer in the shin and side of head during booking, police said. Widdowson was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 26.

Burglary of Golf Clubs
Gregory A. Matheney, 21, of the 200 block of Uteg St., Crystal Lake, was arrested Oct. 19, and charged with burglary and theft valued under $300. Police said Matheney stole a set of golf clubs from an open garage in the 100 block of College Street. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock, where he was awaiting bond and a court date.

Retail Theft
Laura L. Lalond, 52, of the 1300 block of Cunat Ct., Lake in the Hills, was arrested Oct. 19, and charged with retail theft valued under $150. Police said Lalond stole about $35 worth of merchandise from Hobby Lobby. Her bond was set at $1,500, and she was scheduled to appear in court Nov. 12.
Battery
Nicholas D. Gitzinger, 24, of the 500 block of Cress Creek Terrace, Crystal Lake, was arrested Oct. 26, and charged with battery/ causing bodily harm. Police said Gitzinger battered a bar patron at the Williams Street Tap.
