Crystal Lake Man Charged With Sexual Exploitation of a Child

Three girls report being victimized in a fast-food parking lot.

A Crystal Lake man was charged with two counts of misdemeanor sexual exploitation of a child, public indecency and disorderly conduct April 21 after three teenage girls told police he had touched himself in his car, which was parked next to theirs in a fast-food restaurant parking lot.

Nicholas Michael Narish, 26, of 3420 S. Kilkenny Drive in Crystal Lake was arrested by Crystal Lake Police after the girls reported the incident along with Narish’s license plate number.

According to Deputy Police Chief Eugene Lowery, Narish allegedly parked his car next to the girls’ vehicle at about 3:45 p.m. and began the sexual act while watching the girls. Lowery said the girls observed Narish’s actions and confronted him with comments and hand gestures. Narish appeared to become  upset and abruptly drove off.  The victims then telephoned police.

As he returned to this residence, police arrived and initiated an investigation determining he is the subject and then charged him.

“He cooperated with the investigation,” Lowery said.

Narish was also charged with driving without a valid driver’s license. He was released on $150 bond and has a May 17 court date at McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock.

Lowery said it is unusual for a suspect to be apprehended for public indecency crimes as they can’t be identified.

“By the time the police get there, there is no one to be found,” Lowery said.
