A Crystal Lake man was arrested on Wednesday after police received a report of a heavy odor of marijuana smoke in his apartment building.
Dylan Beene, 27, of 1657 Carlemont Dr. Unit B, was arrested and charged with various drug-related offenses, according to a press release issued by Crystal Lake Police Commander Derek Hyrkas.
Crystal Lake police responded to the multi-tenant residential building on Carlemont Drive to investigate a complaint of the heavy smell of cannabis in the common area of the building.
During the initial stages of the investigation, officers were able to determine the smell was coming from Unit B, police said.
Officers met with Beene and were invited inside the home, Hyrkas said in the release.
Further investigation inside the residence revealed Beene was unlawfully in possession of approximately a half pound of cannabis and items of drug paraphernalia, police said.
United States Currency was seized as well. Beene was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offenses:

- Unlawful Manufacturing/Delivery of Cannabis (Class 3 Felony)

- Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Class 4 Felony)

- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor)
Beene was later transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock to await a bond hearing and court date, police said.
