UPDATED: 10:30 A.M. MONDAY, JUNE 24

Charges are pending against the driver involved in an accident last week that led to the death of a Crystal Lake motorcyclist.

Lakewood Police Chief Larry Howell said one charge is pending against the driver of a car that struck 30-year-old Scott Alcock while he was riding a motorcycle on Tuesday, June 18.

The accident occurred at 7:29 p.m. at Haligus Road and Bonnie Drive, Howell said. Alcock was airlifted from the scene by the Flight for Life helicopter for treatment at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Alcock was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, Howell said. He died two days later due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The Lake County News-Sun reported that Alcock was riding his motorcycle on Haligus Road, and was struck by a car near Bonnie Drive. He died of massive head injuries at the hospital, the News-Sun reported.

An emergency dispatch reported the crash at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, according to the Lake and McHenry County Fire Department Incidents Facebook page. The initial report stated the motorcycle was thrown 20 feet.
