Crystal Lake Home Uninhabitable Following Fire

No one was injured in a house fire early Tuesday in the Crystal Lake Manor subdivision.

Firefighters were called to 4908 Saggers Lane in Crystal Lake at 1:08 a.m. where they found smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single-family, ranch home, according to the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department press release.

The fire was contained to a second-floor bathroom and adjacent bedroom and was under control in 27 minutes, according to the news release.

The home was deemed uninhabitable due to roof, smoke and water damage. An initial investigation revealed a bathroom ventilation fan as the possible cause of the fire.

The American Red Cross assisted the home's occupants with finding shelter.
