Ex-Baseball Coach Remains in Jail, Facing 60 Counts of Child Pornography

Marcus J. Sabo, 40, of Crystal Lake, was charged in March with 60 counts of child pornography and served an arrest warrant on Aug. 22.

Marcus J. Sabo, 40, of 245 Wellington Dr., Crystal Lake, remains in McHenry County Jail as he faces more than 60 counts of child pornography charges, the Northwest Herald reports. 

According to McHenry County Court records, Sabo was charged on March 22, with possessing images of underage males engaged in sex acts or posed in lewd positions. The charges are all Class 3 felonies.

He was indicted over the summer and served an arrest warrant on Aug. 22, the Herald reports.

Sabo coached 15-year-old boys on the Crystal Lake Babe Ruth organization and served on the McHenry County Youth Sports Association Summer International Championships (MCYSA). His family has a long volunteer history with the league. 

Babe Ruth officials told the Herald they don't believe any of the images were of Sabo's players, and said the case involves actions conducted on his own personal time.
