Cary Village Board Hires Firm to Search for New Police Chief

Search firm will screen and process candidates for the position of Cary Police Chief.

The Cary Village Board on Tuesday agreed to hire REM Management Services to search for a new police chief. The village will pay $11,000 for the service, the Northwest Herald reports.

REM will screen and process candidates based on qualifications set by the village. Cary trustees Karen Lukasik and Bob Bragg voted against the decision, hoping the search would include a smaller group of potential outside candidates as well as internal candidates for the job, the article stated.

Former Police Chief Steven Casstevens left Cary in June for a chief position in Buffalo Grove.
