Cary Police To Raise Funds for Special Olympics

The Cary Police Department has a goal of $15,000. Shirts and hats are available now.

The Cary Police Department is beginning their fund-raising efforts for 2012 for Special Olympics Illinois.

Cary Police will join hundreds of law enforcement agencies in the state to raise funds through the Law Enforcement Torch Run and other events. The Torch Run began in 1981 and Illinois law enforcement has consistently been one of the top fund-raisers for this worthy cause.

In 2011, law enforcement volunteers in Illinois raised nearly $3 million for Special Olympics. Cary Police raised $2500 last year.

Cary Police will be taking part in numerous events in 2012 with the lofty goal of raising $15,000 this year. The first fund-raising effort will be selling 2012 Special Olympics Torch Run t-shirts and baseball caps.

The shirts or hats are available for a donation of $15.00 each.
