Cary Man Pleads Guilty to Hiring Hitman
Stanley Helmer was charged with trying to hire someone to kill or injure a former employer.
The Cary man indicted one year ago on charges of solicitation of murder for hire pleaded guilty Wednesday in McHenry County Court in Woodstock.
Stanley Helmer, 59, 6105 Miller Ln., Cary, pleaded guilty to attempted solicitation of murder for hire in front of McHenry County Judge Joseph P. Condon, the Northwest Herald is reporting.

While in court, Helmer also pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Helmer now faces up to 15 years in prison, and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 16, for his sentencing, the story said.

Helmer was charged more the one year ago and indicted in May 2011 on , according to the Cary Patch.
Police said Helmer tried to pay a man to kill a former employer.
While in jail regarding his solicitation charges, Helmer allegedly solicited another inmate and offered to pay him $1,000 to break the legs of the main witness in the first case, the Patch article stated.
