Former Cary Man Died of Apparent Heroin Overdose after Proposing to Girlfriend

Randall Bianchi, 22, died Dec. 22, and police may charge his Grayslake girlfriend in relation to his death, several media sources are reporting.

 

Randall Bianchi, 22, formerly of Cary, had just proposed to his girlfriend on Friday, Dec. 21, at the Grayslake apartment the couple shared when a short time later he collapsed, according to the Lake County News Sun.

Bianchi, a Cary native, was transported from his residence in the Grays Pointe Condominiums to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He died on Saturday, the News Sun story states.

Toxicology results are pending. But based on paraphernalia found at the apartment, police believe Bianchi, who had a history of drug abuse, died from a heroin overdose, the Northwest Herald reports.

Grayslake Police may charge the 21-year-old girlfriend relating to Bianchi's death. The Lake County State's Attorney's Office and detectives are reviewing the case, the Herald reported.
