Car Crash Kills Passenger, Driver in Critical Condition Charged with DUI
Accident leaves Cary teen in critical condition and a 20-year old Crystal Lake male dead.
A 20-year-old Crystal Lake man was killed and a Cary teenager is in critical condition following a car crash Saturday morning.
The incident occurred about 1:10 a.m. near 727 Elden Drive in Cary when a vehicle struck a tree, a press release from the Cary Fire Protection District states. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a severely damaged car with two people trapped inside.
The driver, a 19-year-old Cary resident, was removed from the vehicle after about 15 minutes and transported to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville. The McHenry County Coroners office was called to the scene and the passenger, a 20-year-old Crystal Lake male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the driver of the car has been charged with DUI.
The accident is being investigated by the Cary Police Department and the County Cororner's office. Cary Firefighters stayed on the scene until about 6 a.m.
