Arrest Made in Crystal Lake Home Invasion

Man arrested weeks later at a local hotel.

A Crystal Lake man was arrested in connection to a home invasion and threat that allegedly took place in May.

arrested Jose A. Ramos, 38, of Crystal Lake, for home invasion, a Class X felony.

Police were investigating a reported home invasion that took place at a home on Buckingham Drive in Crystal Lake the night of May 21. According to police, the investigation revealed that Ramos entered the residence during a verbal dispute, allegedly threatened bodily harm against the residents—a 27-year-old female and a 22-year-old male—while displaying a handgun.

No injuries were sustained during the reported incident.

According to police, Ramos was located June 11 during a disturbance at a local hotel and was taken into custody on the arrest warrant.

Ramos was additionally charged with one count of misdemeanor battery as a result of the incident at the hotel.

Ramos was unable to post the required 10 percent of the $100,000.00 bond and was transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.
