Antioch Father, Daughter Killed in Plane Crash

Todd Parfitt, 50, and daughter, Nicole, 14, died Sunday afternoon after their small-engine plane crashed near Burlington, Wis.

 

An Antioch father and daughter died Sunday afternoon when their single-engine airplane crashed about 20 miles north of the Wisconsin-Illinois border, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Todd Parfitt, 50, and his 14-year-old daughter, Nicole, were killed after their plane - registered to Parfitt - appeared to nose dive at about 1:25 p.m. Nov. 18, about one-half mile from the runway at the Burlington Municpal Airport, the Tribune story stated.

Todd Parfitt was piloting a Grumman AA1 airplane and attempting to land at the small, unmanned airport on the border between Racine County and Walworth County, the Daily Herald reported. The plane crashed into a nearby cornfield, the Herald story said.

Todd Parfitt was a dispatcher for United Airlines. Nicole was a freshman at Antioch High School, where she was a member of the dance and girls basketball teams, according to the Tribune. Friends of Nicole created a R.I.P. Nicole Parfitt tribute page to her life on Facebook.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash, the article stated.
