Algonquin Police: Domestic Call on Georgetown Circle Ends Peacefully

Algonquin Police were able to peacefully resolve a domestic dispute on Georgetown Circle on Friday, Nov. 1.

A domestic disturbance on Georgetown Circle in Algonquin on Friday drew the attention of Algonquin Police and the concerns of neighbors.

Algonquin Police responded to a residence on Georgetown Circle (located on the far west side of the village near Square Barn Road) on Nov. 1, for a domestic dispute, said Algonquin Deputy Chief Joh Bucci.

There was one adult in the home, and police became aware the individual had a kitchen knife in hand. As a precautionary measure, responding officers had guns drawn outside of the home.

One witness said officers kicked the front door in.

Bucci said once police officers were able to communicate with the individual, they were able to resolve the situation without incident. The individual was transported to an area hospital for medical assistance.

Police did not release the individual's name or address as no charges were filed.

"There was never any danger to the public," Bucci said. "Once we were able to communicate with this individual, everything went without incident. This was an incident that appeared bigger than it was."
