Crystal Lake Residents Critically Injured in Sunday Night Crash

Two Crystal Lake residents were critically injured Sunday night when their car collided with a van driven by a Huntley man in Walworth, Wis., the Walworth County Today reports. 

Shawn E. Cummings, 29, and Lia M. Cummings, 7, of Crystal Lake, suffered critical injuries when Shawn, driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier, allegedly failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign at Highway 67, the Today reports.

Both Cummings were flown by Flight for Life helicopters for treatment- Shawn was sent to Janesville Hospital and Lia was flown to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.

Scott D. Bergstrom, 58, of Huntley, was driving a 2008 Chevy Van towing a 1996 Smokercraft fishing boat and trailer, traveling southbound on Highway 14. Bergstrom’s van allegedly could not avoid the collision and struck the driver’s side of the Cavalier, the Today article states.
