Andrew Zinke for Sheriff of McHenry County Announcing McHenry County Mayors and Village Presidents Endorsing His Campaign

Woodstock, IL – Andrew Zinke, Republican candidate for Sheriff of McHenry County, Illinois, is proud to announce the names of the first installment of elected officials endorsing his campaign.

As McHenry County’s next Sheriff, Zinke will continue his present objectives as Undersheriff to retiring Sheriff Keith Nygren. Zinke will continue to improve and streamline McHenry County’s award-winning Sheriff’s department so that it stays at the forefront of law enforcement helping our communities continue to safely grow and thrive.

“I am honored in receiving these endorsements for my campaign for Sheriff from these community leaders and it’s one of my missions as Sheriff to build community partnerships that keep our homes and businesses safe,” Zinke stated. “It is humbling that so many local leaders have been so eager to publicly express their support and praise for the job I have done as second- in-command of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. I look forward to working directly with all of them as the next Sheriff.”

Andrew Zinke has served the citizens of McHenry County as a law enforcement officer for 25 years and has been with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) for 23 of those years serving as a patrol deputy, crash investigator, SWAT member, K9 handler, crisis-hostage negotiator, detective, detective sergeant, patrol lieutenant, detective lieutenant, and is serving as Undersheriff since 2010, acting as office head in the absence of the sheriff.

Under Zinke’s direction and leadership, the MCSO received the Triple-Crown Award for achievement in law enforcement, making the office one of only 35 sheriff’s offices in the United States to attain this recognition.

A graduate of McHenry High School, Zinke holds a B.A. from Judson College and an M.B.A. from Aurora University in 2013. Andrew and his wife, Kimberly, have three children.
