Marguerite "Marge" Meyer, 97, of Crystal Lake

Lying in state Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake, IL. 60014, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.

 

Marguerite (Marge) Meyer, 97, of Crystal Lake, died at the Fair Oaks Health Care Center on Friday Nov. 30, 2012.

She was born in Whittemore, Iowa on Oct. 12, 1915, to Joseph and Cora (Chamberlain) Fleming.

She was a resident of Chicago for 75 years and an active member of Queen of All Saints Basilica for 45 years. Marge was in the Altar and Rosary Society and the Golf and Bridge Clubs. She was a long time member of the Sauganash & Edgebrook Women's Clubs.

She is survived by a daughter Marilyn (Thomas) Roche and a son Edward (Nancy) Meyer; her grandchildren Timothy (late Susan), and Patrick (Jill) Roche, Anne (Geoff) Cook, Douglas (Elisa) and Cheryl Meyer; great grandchildren Spencer, Connor, Evan, Lily, and Clara Roche, Brandon, and Lauren Meyer, and Jacob Cook; sisters Mary Corrine Smith and Ruth Corcoran. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Dr. Edward S. Meyer, her granddaughter in law Susan, her brothers James and Robert Fleming and her sisters Joan Owens and Eleanor Sanchez.

Lying in state Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake, IL. 60014, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.

Interment private at St. Boniface Cemetery Chicago, Illinois.
