Lorraine Nyberg, 92, of Crystal Lake, and formerly of Des Plaines, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 in Crystal Lake.
She was born January 14, 1920 in Chicago. On May 10, 1941, she married Arthur Nyberg.
Lorraine enjoyed a little bit of everything, but some of her favorite activities were crocheting, sewing, cooking and singing. She was an artist, working mainly with watercolor and oil paints. She took part in the occasional badminton, ping pong or pool game with her family. She also liked watching the Chicago Bulls.
She is survived by her sons, Elmer A. (Dorothy), Arthur, and Chris (Kathryn); her grandchildren, Lorna Nyberg, Erika Nyberg, Lisa Nyberg, Carissa (Terrence) Stanich, Brent (Dawn) Nyberg, Jeffrey Nyberg, Adam (Anita) Nyberg, and Kristy Nyberg; her great-grandchildren, Carlos, Lizzy, Joshua, Peyton, Lucas, Saphire, and Layla; and a great-great-grandson, Acelin.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and nine siblings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
The funeral service will be at 10am on Thursday, July 12, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
