Kimberly A. Keegan, 42

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, July 28, from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake.


Kimberly A. Keegan (nee Twigg), 42, of Crystal Lake, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.

She was born May 17, 1970, in Winfield to William P. and Elaine Twigg.

Kimberly was a 1988 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1992 from Illinois State University in Normal.

After a career in teaching and education administration, Kimberly was most recently the business office coordinator at Sunrise Assisted Living in Crystal Lake, which she enjoyed immensely. She was an infrequent, but enthusiastic Harley rider. A life-long member of the First Congregational Church, she was an avid member of the church bell choirs.

Kimberly was a loving daughter and sister, dear friend and co-worker, but most of all a loving and devoted mother.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Cassidy and Liam Keegan; fiancé, Don Herigodt of Algonquin; brother, John (Steve Watson) Twigg of Phoenix, AZ; former spouse, Michael D. Keegan of McHenry; and uncles and aunts, Robert (Reneé) Barron of Naperville, Vickie (Jim) Scolari of LaSalle, Don (Janice) Twigg of Oak Lawn;

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Katherine Keegan.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 28, from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m., at the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kimberly’s name will be used for her children’s education needs or the First Congregational Church Bell Choir, 461 Pierson St., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
