Kenneth E. Gnech, 84, of Cary; Veteran and Father

Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. on Friday Jan. 3, 2014, at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary.

Kenneth E. Gnech, age 84 of Cary passed away December 28, 2013 at Lexington of lake Zurich.

He was born Aug. 24, 1929 in Chicago, the son of Elmer and Alma Gnech.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Irene (Nee Dobies) Gnech, whom he married Feb. 9, 1955.

Ken is survived by four children: Holly (David) Lubs, Bill (Cindy) Gnech, Steve (Maryla) Gnech and Laura (Al) Tuman.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Nicole Benner, Alyssa Gnech, Katie Stottle, Krissy Kolkebeck, Nina Tuman and Neil Tuman.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Gnech, and a sister, Betty Ball.

Ken served in the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post in Park Ridge.

Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. on Friday Jan. 3, 2014, at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary.  

Burial is planned at St. John Nepomucene Cemetery.
