Jennifer M. (nee Sopata) Lukas, age 35, of Port Orange, Florida, and formerly of Cary, passed away March 8, 2013, at Pepper Family Hospice Unit in Barrington.
Jennifer was born Sept. 21, 1977 in Maywood, Ill., the daughter of James and Sharon Sopata. They survive.
She is also survived by her husband Joseph Lukas, a step-daughter Elaina Lukas, a sister Danyl (Teri) Sopata, a brother Zachary Sopata, and a niece Jayden Sopata-Rahn.
She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jennifer was an infant swim instructor. She enjoyed snowboarding and snowmobiling, and she loved the beach. Jennifer was a fun-loving, free spirit who was loved and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary.
Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at 410 First St., Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Elaina Lukas Education Fund.
