James 'Jim' L. Punda, 55, of Crystal Lake

James “Jim” L. Punda, 55, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 in Crystal Lake.

Born May 20, 1958, in Evergreen Park, he was the son of the late Louis and Catherine ”Kay” (nee Cahalane) Punda.

Jim was a sheet metal worker for over 30 years. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and loved rafting, the Chicago Bears and the White Sox.

He was the beloved father of Kira (Alberto) Torres and Stephanie Punda; cherished grandfather of Summer, Logan, and Sophia; loving former husband and friend of Colette Punda; dear brother of Maria (Joseph) Stapleton, Joseph Punda, and Edward (Gina) Punda; and loving uncle and great uncle to many.

The visitation for Jim will be 4-9pm, Friday, Sept. 27, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

The visitation will continue at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, going in procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake for an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass.
