Irene L. Mertel (nee Klestinec), 89, of Crystal Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock.
She was born March 30, 1923, in Berwyn to the late Vitus and Katherine Klestinec.
Survivors include her son, Steven (Betty) Mertel of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Steve (Kelly) and Michael Mertel and Amy (Patrick) Finnerty; and great-grandchildren, Grace, Anna, Ryan Mertel and Maggie and Patrick Finnerty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; and her daughter, Carol Kasko.
The memorial service will be private.
