Eve E. Strudeman, 86, Longtime Crystal Lake Resident, Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church

Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct 19, at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Crystal Lake. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m.

 

Eve E. Strudeman (nee Rolander), 86, a long- time resident of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away  Tuesday, Oct. 16, at her home at the Atrium Memory Care Facility in Rockford, Ill.

She was born Sept. 27, 1926, one of five children to Carl and Eva Rolander.

Eve attended Chicago Public School and was a graduate of Parker High School class of 1944.

She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone unitl her marriage to Joseph A. Strudeman, June 7, 1956.

Eva was blessed with ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who she truly loved and enjoyed. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. She was very active in church activities and outings and had many friends whom she enjoyed. Eva was a great lover of life, and always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say.

She enjoyed Wisconsin vacations, fishing, playing cards, and travel, of which Alaska and Hawaii were her favorites.

Eva is survived by her children Steven (Cindy) Strudeman, Carol Marunde, and Janet (Chuck) Breiter; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers Walter and Richard; and sisters Bernice and Marguerite.

Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary following the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Atrium Memory Care Facility and Transitions Hospice Care of Huntley.
