Carlos A. Meza, 69, of Crystal Lake

Services for Carlos will be private.

 

Carlos A. Meza, 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 25, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family at his side after two and a half years of battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Carlos was born Aug. 22, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, to Manuel and Manuela Meza.

He was an Army veteran and member of American Legion Post 171 in Crystal Lake. He retired from William Rainey Harper College after 24 years from the custodial department in 2004.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Minerva G. Meza, his daughter, Maria (Robert) VanHurk of Wonder Lake, Anna (Craig) Lockwood of Crystal Lake, his son, Carlos A. Meza Jr. of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Tanner VanHurk, Ethan, Elliot and Olivia Lockwood of Crystal Lake; brothers, Manuel (Zoila) Meza of Laredo, Texas, Arturo (Janie) Meza of Laredo, Texas, Jose (Gloria) Meza of Arlington, Texas, Gilberto (Cindy) Meza of Manvel, Texas, Alberto Meza of Laredo, Texas; sister-in-law, Martha Martinez of Laredo, Texas, and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ricardo Meza.

Services for Carlos will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Legion at www.legion.org/donate or Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Rd, Barrington, IL, 60010 would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank Dr. Liu and his staff of Crystal Lake as well as Dr. Ruffer and his staff in Barrington for the care and support that Carlos received.
