Arline G. Crawford, 89, of Crystal Lake

Arline G. Crawford, 89, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Marengo, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Crystal Pines Health Care Center.

She was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Oak Park to John and Bessie (Kuss) Curran.

On May 6, 1950, she married Glenn C. Crawford at the Methodist Community Church in Fox River Grove.

Arline graduated from the West Suburban School for Nurses in 1946. She worked for 37 years at Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo.

She was also very active in the McHenry County Historical Society. Arline was an accomplished quilter, knitter, and baker. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling. She also loved animals.

She is survived by her niece, Doreen Quinlan; her great-nieces, Caitlin (Steven) Miller, Bridget Ostrowski, and Meghan Quinlan; great-great-nephews, Curran Ostrowski and Liam Miller; and great-great-niece, Shelby Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents; and her brother, John Curran.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake. The service will be at 1 p.m. 

Interment will be private in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
