Ann M. Kallenbach, 50, of Cary

Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.





Ann M. Kallenbach, 50, of Cary passed away Friday, August 2, 2013, in her home.
She was born January 19, 1963, in Elmhurst the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy Tongen Karpiel.

She had been a resident of Lombard from 1987 until moving to Cary in 2004. She was a graduate of Fenton High School, George WIlliams College and received master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University in Special Education and Education Administration.

She was a Special Education teacher at Wheaton North High School, Dean of Students at Batavia High School in 1997-98 and then was Special Education Divisional and Dean of Students at Bartlett High School.

Surviving are husband, Dan Kallenbach, whom she married on March 23, 2005, two step daughters, Jacqueline and Natalie Kallenbach, a granddaughter, Aaliyah, her brother, Scott (Angela) Karpiel of Berthoud, CO, niece, Genevieve, nephew, Jonas and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Heartland Animal Shelter, 2795 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook, Il. 60062.
