Check Out New Digital Media Classes at MCC

Learn how to digitally design creatures and characters for animation or learn how to create illustrations for the web and print with two new digital media classes—Character Development and Digital Illustration—offered by McHenry County College beginning in Spring 2014 Semester.

These classes will train individuals for exciting careers in animation and digital illustration. With the skills learned from these classes, students will have the opportunity to pursue high-demand jobs in fields such as web design, app design, animation, print illustration and concept art for movies and games.

Character Development (DGM 290-003) is a drawing-intensive class focused on digitally designing creatures and characters for animation, games, and graphic novels and movies. Students will learn an introduction to digital sketching and painting techniques, and cover anatomy and design basics. Class takes place from 2-4:50 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday beginning January 13, 2014.

Digital Illustration (DGM 290-004) is a project-based class focusing on creating illustrations for the web, games, apps and print. This class will focus on storytelling skills and using design principles to make an impact. Students will create bold images suitable for a variety of multimedia uses. Class takes place from 6-8:50 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday beginning January 13, 2014.
