Mum and Fall Plant Sale at the Woodstock Public Library

Friends of Woodstock Public Library's 3rd Annual Mums the Word Fall Plant Sale will be held at the library this Friday, Sept 14th and Saturday, Sept 15th.

The Friends of Woodstock Public Library's 3rd Annual Mums the Word Fall Plant Sale will feature a wide variety of locally grown fall plants and grasses from Hoffie's Nursery in Marengo.

This year's sale will feature beautifully decorated mum baskets, perfect to give as a gift or for your front porch.

The sale will be held on Friday, Sept 14th 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept 15th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Woodstock Public Library is located at 414 W Judd St in Woodstock.

The Friends of Woodstock Public Library supports the library by providing gifts, programs and services that the library would not be able to afford on a tight budget. Gifts to the library from the Friends include a walker to help library customers get around the library, sponsored children's programming, books on CD, library databases and more.

Fall Flower Frenzy - There are flowers all over the library at this time of year – come to this program to learn more about the power of flowers and go home with some that you’ll make yourself! You’ll be amazed by what you can create with tissue, pipe cleaners, beans, and some help from Mrs. D, Mrs. Z, and the ladies of the Bull Valley Garden Club. Registration required. Kindergarten- 5th grade Saturday / September 15 from 11a.m.-noon 

Container Gardening with Marlene Frisbie - Looking to spruce up your front entrance or back deck with beautiful containers? Marlene Frisbie of Hoffie Nursery, Inc. will return to the library to demonstrate a new arrangement of fall plants. Tips and tricks for year-round containers will be included. This program will be held rain or shine. No registration required.  September 15 beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Woodstock Local History Walking Tour - This walking tour includes many beautiful and historic homes and buildings near the Woodstock Square. Participants will enjoy stories about our community’s past residents and way of life. Architectural details will be noted along the way. Meet the group at the library parking lot at Saturday, Sept 15th at  2:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, please call the library at 815-338-0542 to make sure the tour will still take place.
