Stay Warm This Winter with Indoor Activities

Snowflake Fun
Escape from the cold and enjoy winter crafts, stories, and more. This is a great way for your child to socialize and make friends. This class is for children ages 3 – 5 years and meets on Monday, February 3 from 12:15 – 1:00 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $10 (n/r $15).

 

Preschool Smarties
Your child will become a “smartie” while preparing for preschool. Children learn letters and numbers, share in circle time, and build friendships. Preschool Smarties is for children ages 3 – 5 years and meets on Mondays, February 24 – March 17 from 11:05 am – Noon. Registration is $32 (n/r $48).

Safe Sitter Babysitting Training Course
This course will provide the information and skills necessary for safe and responsible childcare in the absence of parents or guardians. Participants will learn how to care for children and infants, injury prevention and basic first aid, behavior management, personal safety, ethics, and babysitting as a business. This course includes a babysitting manual and completion card. Please bring a baby sized doll and lunch to each class. This course is for teens age 11 – 15 years and meets on Saturday and Sunday, February 15 – 16 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $65 (n/r $98).

Imagination Station
Put your creativity to good use in a class that is bursting with imagination. Make a wide variety of projects each week using beads, sand, floss, yarn and of course your own creativity. Take home your projects when finished to show off your work. It’s going to be a fun time of colors and creativity. This class is for children ages 6 – 10 years and meets on Wednesdays, February 26 – April 9 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $48 (n/r $72).

 

Xtreme Trampoline Trip
Trampolines are the newest craze. Work on increasing your cardiovascular and muscular endurance while working on balance and coordination in a fun and exciting new activity. Please bring a water bottle and money for lunch. This trip is for teens age 10 – 14 years and is held on Monday, February 17 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Transportation leaves from and returns to the Community Center. The activity is held in Buffalo Grove. Registration is $35 (n/r $53) and includes admission and transportation. The registration deadline is February 10.

 

Meditation for the Busy Mind
Learn how to achieve your own inner peace and clear your mind from the reality of our modern lives. Learn classic meditation positions along with techniques that can be used and applied in a practical sense. This class is for adults and meets on Wednesday, February 12 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $20 (n/r $30).

 

Yoga For All
Reduce stress and build a healthier body! This class includes Hatha yoga postures, techniques, and sequences for flexibility, strength, postural alignment, increased energy and overall health. All experience levels are welcome. All yoga props are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. This class is for adults and meets on Fridays, February 21 – April 4 from 9:00 – 10:10 am at the Community Center. Registration is $60 (n/r $90).

 

Family Karate
Family karate is a chance for parents and their children to train together and share a special bond with all the skills and confidence karate has to offer. This class is for parents and their children 3 years and older and meets on Saturdays, February 8 – March 1 from 11:00 am – Noon at the Community Center. Registration is $60 (n/r $90).

 

Grand Victoria Casino Senior Trip
Stay warm and cozy indoors while enjoying a day of casino fun. Play on your own and then take a break to dine with the group. This trip is for seniors and is held on Thursday, February 27 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Fee includes transportation and lunch. Registration is $20 (n/r $24). Registration deadline is February 20.
