Laugh, Play, Grow, Create, and Explore with Spring Classes at the Cary Park District

The spring session of Cary Park District programs begins in April. Laugh, play, grow, create, and explore with early childhood programs, cooking classes, and more.

Tot Rock
Wiggle, giggle, dance and play; have some fun the Tot Rock way! Your tot will delight in this popular music exploration program that uses a variety of rhythm instruments, movement props, and sensory items. This class is for children ages 12 – 24 months and a parent and meets on Mondays, April 8 – May 20 from 9:30 – 10:10 am at the Community Center. Registration is $55 (n/r $83).

Kid Rock
Sing! Dance! Play! Make it a musical day! Kid Rock is a unique musical adventure that combines play and learning through songs, rhymes, rhythm instruments, and props. This class is for children ages 2 – 3 years and a parent and meets on Mondays, April 8 – May 20 from 10:15 – 10:55 am at the Community Center. Registration is $55 (n/r $83).

Little Sprouts
In a small school setting, your child will have a social environment to support developmentally appropriate activities. Little Sprouts will provide hands on experiences such as math, art, music, manipulatives, and dramatic play to enhance your child's independence through learning. This class is for children ages 3 - 4 years and meets at the Community Center. Choose from Monday, April 8 - May 13 from 9:15 - 11:00 am or Wednesday, April 3 - May 22 from 9:15 - 11:00 am. Registration is $99 (n/r $149) for the Monday class and $129 (n/r $194) for the Wednesday class.

Creative Cooking – Spring Treats
Measure, mix, and pour your way to fun. Children will become more confident and helpful in the kitchen by learning how to read a recipe, measuring and mixing techniques, how to safely use the oven, stovetop, and microwave, and how to keep the preparation and cooking space clean. Share the work, clean up, and enjoy tasting your creations. This class is for children ages 6 – 11 years and meets on Tuesday, April 16 from 5:15 – 6:15 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $12 (n/r $18).

Princess & Pirate
Color your favorite princess, pirate, ships, treasure chests, tiaras, and more. Then decorate with fabric, sparkles, feathers, and jewels. Cutting skills are
necessary. This class is for children in grades 1st – 3rd and meets on Mondays, April 15 – May 20 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $30 (n/r $45).

Spring Crafts
Help us welcome spring with crafts, stories, art and more! This is a great way for your child to socialize and make friends. This class is for children ages 3 - 5 years and meets on Wednesday, April 10 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $10 (n/r $15). 

Safe Sitter Babysitting Training Course
This course will provide the information and skills necessary for safe and responsible childcare in the absence of parents or guardians. Learn how to care for infants and children, basic first aid, personal safety, injury and problem prevention, and babysitting as a business. Included in the course is a babysitting manual and completion card. Please bring a baby-sized doll and lunch to each class. This course is for teens age 11 – 15 and meets on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 – 14 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $65 (n/r $98).

Advanced Savings and Investment Strategies
Learn how to make your money work harder for you by taking your IRA or 401k to the next level. This course will walk you through measuring risks, what asset allocation is, and how to develop a long-term investment tax strategy. This course meets on Wednesday, April 17 from 6:15 – 7:30 pm at the Community Center. Registration is $5 (n/r $8).
