Spring is Here! Are You Ready for Renewal?

Sometimes we forget to take good care of ourselves. We replenish everything around us, but nothing within us. We disregard our state of mind. This can lead to damaging and harmful consequences.

The trees are budding and the flowers are blooming. It is so wonderful to witness the rebirth of nature every spring. It replenishes and awakens the soul!

People fixate on cleaning and fixing up their homes. Gardens are tended and lawns are manicured. All the lush greenery is a sight for winter-worn eyes. Outdoor projects of all kinds are set in motion.

I would like you to take a moment to think about another aspect of renewal—self-renewal. We invest a fair amount of time into our home and garden projects, but what about investing in you, in your state of mind?

Sometimes we forget to take good care of ourselves. We replenish everything around us, but nothing within us. We disregard our state of mind. This can lead to damaging and harmful consequences. Our state of mind affects everything that we do! This spring start a healthy habit—renew your mind.

We can start by getting rid of mind clutter:

Lots of negative thinking and unnecessary worry accumulates in our heads. Often, far more than we ever realize or would like to admit. Take some time to distress and let go of your negative thoughts. Journaling, prayer, yoga, exercise and mediation can help you accomplish this task.

Spruce up Your Attitude:

Positive thinking and feeling good about yourself will do you a world of good. Each day find something to be grateful for and something good to focus on to elevate your thoughts. Acknowledge your strengths and stop judging yourself. Be aware of your thoughts and redirect negative thoughts to more positive thoughts.

Enjoy Yourself:

Take time to enjoy your day. Do things that bring you joy. Stop putting them off. You will always have a to-do list. Move your joyful activities to the top of the list. No excuses. You will be amazed that you can somehow fit them in. All you have to do is incorporate your joyful activities into your day. What’s more, you will be a much happier person.

Learn and Grow:

Take up a new hobby. Read up on a subject that intrigues you. Take a class or attend a workshop. Do something that you have never done before. Enrich your life. Do something creative. You are never too old to experience something new!

  • Negativity and worry will not do you any good in any season.
  • Everyone enjoys a positive minded person; they are always a pleasure to be around.
  • Joy is something that we are here to experience, not put off and push aside.
  • Learning and growing will keep you young and invigorated.
